Eric Wolff is a musician, audio engineer, producer, radio programmer, and music teacher based in Seattle, Washington. Since 2013, Eric has performed bass and vocals with the party band The Nines, named Seattle Bride Magazine's Best Wedding Reception band of 2015. Eric's broad musical horizons make him a versatile asset on stage and in the studio. He is proficient in a range of styles and especially enjoys mixing elements of Funk, Rock, Blues, Neo-Soul, Hip Hop, Afro-cuban, and Jazz.
Eric honed his audio engineering skills and worked as a session musician at Mirror Sound Studios in Shoreline, WA from 2012-2014. During that time he engineered projects for clients including Audible.com, Amazon, MTV, Such A Voice, and the Discovery Channel, as well as numerous independent musicians performing diverse genres from Rock and Blues, to Hip Hop and Nepalese pop. He also bass, guitar, guitar, harmonica and vocals on numerous studio sessions. In all of his roles–as an engineer, session musician, producer, or all of the above– Eric is focused helping clients get the most out of their time in the studio and realize their creative vision while cultivating a positive and fun atmosphere.
Eric has his degree in Sociology and Music from the University of California Santa Barbara where he studied jazz performance with drummer Jon Nathan and graduated with high honors. He has also studied bass at the Berklee College of Music as well as with Iowa Blues and Jazz Hall-of-famer Dartanyan Brown (Chase), Mark White (The Spin Doctors) and others. His vocal coach is Amber Morris.
Community radio is another passion of Eric's. In Seattle, Eric volunteers as a programmer at KBCS 91.3 FM and also volunteers with the online radio station Hollow Earth Radio, helping the station in its bid to develop a Low Power FM frequency. During his time in Santa Barbara, Eric served as a programmer, Music Director, and ultimately General Manager of KCSB FM in Santa Barbara. His passion for radio stems from his love of music and his belief in the importance of protecting and expanding hyper-local, grassroots media made for and by the communities it serves.
