Seeing live music is an important part of being a musician. Going to shows is a great learning opportunity that also helps to support the local music scene on which all musicians depend. Whether they are venerated masters, or our musical peers, watching other musicians perform is often a source of inspiration, and always a lot of fun!
Below is a list of some of my favorite places to see live music in Seattle. (Unfortunately, many of these venues are 21 and over. This is a huge problem because it robs young musicians of many learning and performing opportunities. I've marked all-ages venues on this list with an *asterisk.)

On the internet, music students have a vast array of YouTube play-along videos, online tabs, and digitized charts and streaming music at their fingertips.
