Eric loves to share his broad knowledge of music with students. His lessons bring to bear the full scope of his experiences as a gigging pro and music educator. He has experience teaching a variety of students from age 6 to 65. Eric offers lessons for all levels, and he especially enjoys getting beginners off to the right start on their musical journey.
Eric creates a customized curriculum for each student that is flexible but focused. He helps students identify their goals and then outlines the knowledge and skills they will need to achieve those goals. Documenting and following up on the material covered in each lesson helps students remember what they've learned and start to see the big picture of how all these concepts and skills fit together to help them make music.
Eric knows from experience that performing with others is an important part of a musician's development. He focuses on helping students develop the skills they need to perform with others. He often jams with students to help them become comfortable playing and interacting with other musicians in a live setting. Eric can help you learn and perfect the songs you want to play, developing your musical ear and knowledge of theory in the process. He takes a holistic approach to the subjects he teaches, using these musical instruments, equipment, and software as tools to teach essential musical lessons including music theory, improvisation, and ear training.

Testimonials

"Eric is a great bass teacher, who has been teaching me for almost a year now. He is passionate and very knowledgeable about bass guitar. I'd recommend him to anyone looking for a good bass teacher."
                                    - Jack M.

"Eric helped me with guitar and Pro Tools. The lessons were very useful as I was recording demos which eventually turned into an EP. Eric helped me learn how I could add tracks to work I had already recorded in Chicago so we were able to work out some vocal harmonies and layers. The result was great."
                                      - Dustin T.

"Eric is an amazing bass teacher. He has great taste in music and he KILLS it on the bass. His funky grooves inspired me to practice for hours everyday. His music taste is very diverse, so if you have a song you want to learn he will probably be able to teach it to you. He also has a very keen ear and will teach you the skills you need to develop your ear so that you can jam. If you want to rock at bass, definitely call Eric."
                                     - Kelli J.
